The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office is on the alert for four Negrense suspects, still at-large, linked to the abduction of six of the 34 sabungero (cockfight aficionados) declared missing since last year.
As reported by the police, four of the six suspects who have pending arrest warrants for kidnapping and illegal detention, have been identified as Mark Carlo Zabala, Roberto Matillano Jr., Virgilio Bayog and Johnry Consolacion, all residents of Negros Occidental.
The Department of Justice has offered P1 million reward for any information leading to their apprehension.
PCapt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesman of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, yesterday said that police stations in cities of Kabankalan and Talisay, and the towns of Hinigaran and Binalbagan, where the four suspects reside, have already been alerted.
Catalogo, however, said they have strong reason to believe that the four suspects may have already left the province, either shortly before or after the wanted posters were released, although he also believes they may return to Negros Occidental in the future.*
