P1M in shabu seized, 6 nabbed

More than P1 million worth of suspected shabu has been seized by the police from six drug suspects who were separately arrested by police on September 11 and 12, in Negros Occidental.

According to a report of the Bacolod City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit, the arrest of Stephen Frias on Thursday early morning, at Purok Pablo Torre in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, during a buy bust operation, yielded about 135 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P918,000.

The arrest of five other drug suspects in Ilog, Murcia, Pontevedra, and the cities of Silay and Kabankalan, all in Negros Occidental, also yielded about 20 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P139,400.

All the six arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail, pending the filing of charges for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

On Sept. 10, the BCPO Police Station 2 also seized about 352 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P353,600 from an arrested drug suspect at Brgy. 3 in Bacolod City.*
