P1M incentive for ‘Lola Iska’ proposed in Congress

Senior Citizen Party-list Representative Rodolfo Ordanes has filed House Resolution 2207 that will grant a Negrense super centenarian from Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, a P1 million incentive.

Super centenarian Francisca “Lola Iska” Susano of Brgy. Camingawan, Kabankalan City celebrated her 124th birthday on September 11.

Born 1897, Lola Francisca is believed to be the oldest living person in the world.

She survived the influenza pandemic from 1918 to 1919 and witnessed World War I from 1914 to 1918 and World War II from 1939 to 1945.

Ordanes said the Guinness World Records already received documents pertaining to Lola Iska.

During her birthday, Lola Francisca received lot surprises of from different groups and ranking government officials, with Commissioner Franklin Quijano of the National Commission of Senior Citizens, Mayor Pedro Zayco and Vice Mayor Raul Rivera among her well-wishers.

She also received cash, medical supplies, vitamins and groceries, as well as plaques of recognition, as well as two wheelchairs.

One of her daughters is now 102 years old.*
