The Police Regional Office 6 reported the seizure of about P1 million worth of suspected shabu in one day of anti-illegal drug operations in Western Visayas, resulting in the arrest of 12 suspected drug peddlers.
Of the arrested suspects, four were tagged as high value individuals and eight as street level individuals, said a statement from the Western Visayas police.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office contributed to the accomplishments by arresting two drug suspects, which resulted in the confiscation of P176,800 worth of suspected shabu, while the Bacolod City Police nabbed one suspect.
The Iloilo PPO seized P462,400 worth of suspected shabu from an arrested drug peddler, while the Iloilo City Police Office arrested six drug suspects and recovered P428,400 worth of illegal drugs.
On the other hand, the Aklan PPO was able to arrest 2 persons and confiscate P6,800 worth of suspected shabu.
The 12 arrested suspects are now under police custody and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
