Policemen confiscated more than P1 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested six drug suspects, including a student, on August 23, in the Negros Island Region.
An estimated 160 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P1,088,000 was confiscated by the police from a High Value Individual drug personality during a buy bust operation at Barangay Villareal in Bayawan, Negros Oriental.
Meanwhile, a student and four other drug suspects were nabbed on August 23 in Negros Occidental, for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
A 19-year-old student, identified by the police only as alias Jobean, was apprehended during a buy bust operation at Purok 3M’s in Barangay Poblacion, Toboso, Negros Occidental.
His arrest yielded five sachets of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money.
The arrest of another suspected drug peddler, alias Necklier, at Purok Kalumpang in Barangay 1 Poblacion, San Carlos City, led to the seizure of an estimated 0.61 gram of suspected shabu, valued at P4,148.
Another anti-drug operation led to the arrest of alias Michael, 46, at Purok Langka in Barangay Pacol, Bago City. His apprehension yielded four sachets of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money and P127 in cash.
Two other drug suspects are now locked up in jail, after their apprehension on Saturday in La Castellana and Murcia, which yielded an estimated three grams of suspected shabu valued at P20,400, and P1,000 in marked money.*
