More than P2 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated by the police from two arrested drug peddlers on Wednesday, at Purok Langis in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City.
Nabbed were alias Rachell, 23, and alias Echero, 24, both residents of Bacolod City, and categorized by the police as High Value Individual drug personalities.
Their apprehension by members of the Bacolod City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit during a buy bust yielded 315 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P2,142,000.
On August 27, the police also seized a total of P111,000 worth of suspected shabu from four arrested drug suspects in Negros Occidental, three of which were accounted for by the Bacolod City Police Office.
PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, lauded the BCPO and NOCPPO for their successful and relentless operations against illegal drugs.
“As long as there are persons engaging in illegal drugs, our operations continue. Thus, may this arrest serve as a stern warning to those involved in the illegal trade to cease. If they opt to continue, surely they will end up in jail,” Wanky, in a statement issued by the Police Regional Office 6, said.*
