More than P2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized by the police in Negros Occidental in a series of buy bust operations yesterday, where the bulk of the drug haul came from the arrest of a college student in Bacolod City.
An estimated 255 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1.7 million was recovered by operatives of the PNP Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 2 from a college student during a buy bust operation at Purok Tahong in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.
PLt. Liberty Indiape, deputy spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office, identified the arrested student as Arnold Caso, 19, reportedly studying in a maritime school in the city.
Meanwhile, the arrest of five other drug suspects in series of buy bust operations on June 25 and 26 in Negros Occidental also yielded P478,378 worth of suspected illegal drugs.
In Brgy. Binicuil, Kabankalan City, a High Value Individual drug personality identified by the police as Jonathan Gasalao was arrested during a buy bust operation that yielded 60 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P408,000.
The police also seized six grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P40,800, from a drug suspect identified as Ramie Lozañes at Santo Niño Ville Subdivision in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City.
Three other drug suspects identified as Mark Cubarobias, Jesam Nicavera, and Jimmy Jaime were also apprehended by the police in Hinigaran, and the cities of Cadiz and Bago, Negros Occidental, respectively, that yielded about 4.2 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P28,478.
On the other hand, the apprehension of Rico Ongganon, alias Insik, for creating alarm and scandal on June 27 at Embarcadero Street in Brgy. 1 poblacion, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, yielded an improvised gun with a live 9mm ammunition.*
