Coming from a dismal number of drug haul in July, the Bacolod City Police reported yesterday that they were able to seize P2.6 million worth of suspected shabu from 48 operations they conducted last month.
P/Major Sherlock Gabana, BCPO spokesperson, said, the operations also led to the arrests of 60 street level individuals and two of whom are new in their illegal-drugs list
He said they were able to file 89 cases for violation of republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in court.
As to their campaign against wanted persons, Gabana said, BCPO conducted 54 operations last month that resulted to the arrest of 11 “most wanted personalities” and 43 others with arrest warrants for various offenses.
BCPO records also showed that six firearms were surrendered in their “Oplan Katok”, an annual firearms verification drive, last month while 57 persons were arrested from 17 illegal gambling operations.
So far, Gabana said, 32 illegal gambling cases were filed in corurt and P3,800 in bet money were recovered.
Director P/Col. Manuel Placido of BCPO commended the operating units and its personnel for a job well done and their relentless effort thru police initiated operations to lessen criminality.
He also reminded the personnel to be always motivated to do their job to make Bacolod City safe and peaceful and always on alert against COVID 19 by strictly implementing and observing the minimum health protocols for their safety and protection.*
