Two-day operations against illegal drugs in Western Visayas on September 20 to 22 led to the arrest of 22 drug suspects and the seizure of about 417 grams of suspected ‘shabu’, with a market value of P2.8 million.
Of the 22 arrested persons, four were tagged by the police as high value individuals and 18 are street level individuals.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 logged the biggest volume of confiscation of illegal drugs, amounting to P1.2 million, followed by Iloilo City Police Office with the seizure of around P1,094,000 worth suspected ‘shabu’, and the Capiz Police Provincial Office ranked third, with P231,000 worth of illegal drugs recovered.
The Bacolod City Police Office seized P194,000 worth of illegal drugs, while the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office recovered P70,000 in suspected shabu, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office confiscated an estimated P27,000 worth of illegal drugs.
In the same period, the campaign against wanted persons of the Police Regional Office 6 also led to the arrest off 24 fugitives, where eight were arrested in Negros Occidental, and two in Bacolod City.*
