Mayor Raymund Tongson has offered a P200,000 reward for the identification and arrest of the gunman who killed a widower on September 1 in Brgy. Aguisan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
The victim, identified by the Himamaylan police as Antonio Tobias, succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head and was declared dead on arrival at the Binalbagan infirmary, according to the police.
Initial police investigations showed the victim was driving a Ford Everest vehicle owned by Cesar Buenaventura, when he was fired upon three times by the gunman, who immediately fled after the shooting incident
Tongson, who offered P200,000 for the information that may lead to the arrest of the gunman, condemned the incident.
According to the Himamaylan City police, Tongson disclosed that they have already a “person of interest” in the shooting of Tobias. But he did not elaborate further, pending investigation of the incident.
In his social media account, Tongson advised anybody who may have information to call Himamaylan Police Station through hotline numbers 0998-598-7422 or 0998-598-7423.
Expressing his condolences to the family of the victim, Tongson assured Himamaylan City residents that they are “on top of the situation.”*
