The construction of a three storey hemodialysis center at the Ignacio L. Arroyo Memorial District Hospital in Isabela, Negros Occidental, is targeted for completion by the end of the year, after 5th district Representative Emilio Bernardino Yulo allocated additional P20 million for it.
The project was started by former Rep. Ma. Lourdes Arroyo in 2021, with a budget of P19.5 million.
Despite our political differences, I am committed to continuing this vital project for the benefit of our community, Yulo said, stressing “this dialysis center has been a beacon of hope.”
Yulo said the additional budget aims to finish the physical infrastructure.
After its completion, the solon said there are still many requirements, especially from the Department of Health, which they need to look at.
Whatever the methodology, after the completion of its physical infrastructures, we have to work on that. It could be run by the province, as part of its managed hospitals, or it could stand alone as a hemodialysis center, Yulo said.
The medical facility has an initial 12 beds for hemodialysis patients, but Yulo is hopeful it could be expanded to 20 beds.*
