Two separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City yesterday, March 31, 2026, resulted in the arrest of five individuals and the seizure of approximately P250,000 worth of suspected shabu.
In the first incident, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region and Police Station 2 dismantled a suspected drug den in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2 of the city.
The operation led to the arrest of a subject identified as alias ‘JR’ and three other high-value targets, identified as alias ‘Monalisa,’ 35, alias ‘Gensan,’ 35, and alias ‘Ruben,’ 42.
Authorities recovered over P80,000 worth of shabu from the scene.
The suspects were subsequently transported to the Police Station 2 custodial facility.
In a separate early morning operation at 2:58 a.m., the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended a 62-year-old man, identified as alias ‘Mang,’ in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago.
The buy-bust operation yielded approximately 25 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P170,000 after a transaction was made with a poseur-buyer.
All five individuals involved in these separate cases are facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
