The Police Regional Office 6 reported the confiscation of P25 million worth of illegal drugs in Western Visayas, within a period of three weeks of anti-illegal drug operations.
From December 15, 2024 to January 5 this year, PRO 6 records indicated that 95 police operations conducted regionwide led to the arrest of 140 suspected drug peddlers and the recovery of 3.7 kilos of shabu with a market value of P25.6 million.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) recorded the biggest drug haul, with the confiscation of illegal drugs valued at P16.5 million, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) seized P6.5 million worth of shabu, while the Iloilo Police Provincial Office seized P1.08 million in illegal drugs.
At the same time, BCPO arrested 46 drug personalities, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office accounted for 43 drug suspects, while 37 others nabbed by the ICPO.
P/Brig.Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, commended all concerned police commanders across the region, for a job well done.
Wanky, however, urged them to maintain the intensity of the campaign, in close coordination and collaboration with the different law enforcement agencies, local government units, and the community.*
