More than P2 million worth of suspected shabu and dried marijuana leaves were confiscated by the police in separate buy bust operations in Bacolod City over the weekend, resulting in the arrest of eight drug suspects.
In a report, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said that the buy operation on Saturday at Purok Star Apple 2 in Brgy. 27, Bacolod City, led to the apprehension of six drug suspects, including a woman identified as alias Jenica, categorized as a High Value Individual drug personality, and five others, alias Rocky, alias Jingle, alias Terence, alias Kim and alias Marlon.
It also resulted in the confiscation of about 270 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P1,836,000.
A follow up anti-drug operation on Sunday also led to the arrest of another drug suspect identified as Dave, 21, in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, which also yielded about 1.5 kilos of dried marijuana leaves, with a market value of P225,000.
A tricycle driver identified by the police as alias Naldo was also apprehended on Saturday at Purok San Roque, Barangay Tangub, also in Bacolod City.
His arrest also yielded about three grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P20,400.
All the eight arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail, pending the filing of charges against them for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
Four other drugs suspects were also nabbed by the police on Saturday in cities of Bago, Victorias, Talisay and Escalante in Negros Occidental, which also yielded about 65 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P443,036.
All the 12 arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail, pending the filing of charges against them for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
