Police recovered more than P2 million worth of suspected shabu from eight arrested drug suspects in highly urbanized Bacolod City, and five component cities of Negros Occidental.
A buy bust operation conducted at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Brgy. Singcang Airport, Bacolod City, by the Drug Enforcement Unit led by PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez on Tuesday, January 21, led to the seizure of about 250 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1.7 million.
Anti-illegal drug operations also resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects identified by the Bacolod City Police Office as alias Fredo, 51, classified by the police as a High Value Individual drug personality, and alias Iya, 18; and alias Shaba, 23.
About P344,000 worth of suspected shabu were also recovered by the police from four arrested drug suspects, including a businessman, in the Negros Occidental cities of Silay, Victorias, and Escalante on Jan. 20.
Two other suspects, a farmer and a construction worker, were apprehended by the police in the cities of Sagay and Escalante for illegal possession of firearms.
The police recovered two caliber .45 pistols with ammunition.*
