P2M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in WV

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The Police Regional Office 6 reported the confiscation of P2 million worth of suspected shabu, in a series of anti-illegal drug operations from June 20 to 23 in Western Visayas.

The PRO 6 also arrested 18 suspected drug personalities, of which 10 were accounted for by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.

The eight other suspects were apprehended by the Capiz and Iloilo Police Provincial Offices, Iloilo City Police Office, and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6.

In a statement, P/Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, praised the police operatives for their continued notable accomplishments.

Wanky also urged them to continuously coordinate and collaborate with the community and other government agencies, to identify those who still engage in the illegal drug trade.

“May these arrests serve as a warning to those who are involved in illegal drugs to stop. If not, surely you will be the next subject of our police operations,” he further said.

Among the police units, RPDEU 6 logged the largest confiscation of about 70 grams of ‘shabu’, which had an estimated street price of P476,000.*
