Rep. Ma. Lourdes Arroyo (Neg. Occ., 5th District) led the inauguration ceremony for the retrofitting/strengthening of permanent Hinigaran bridge in the municipality on Jan. 29, a press release from her office said yesterday.

During the ceremony, Arroyo said that the P30.2-million infrastructure project will bring more progress to the town.

“Bridges play a vital role in the economy since bridges connect places and people, and make it possible for goods to be transported and services to be rendered. The strengthening of this bridge will surely benefit the people of Hinigaran and bring more development to the municipality,” Arroyo said.

She added that the strengthening of the bridge is even more relevant in this time of the pandemic because of the benefit that it provides in terms of helping the economy recover from the effects of Covid-19 pandemic, the press release said. The ceremony was also attended by Hinigaran Mayor Nadie Arceo, Vice Mayor Teresita Gabrido, councilors Mary Grace Arceo, Hadji Trojillo, and Oscar Yulo, and assistant district engineer Ade Roderick Turingan of the Department of Public Works and Highways.*
