The month-long operations of Police Regional Office 6 in the fight against the proliferation of illegal drugs in Western Visayas led to the recovery of 4.7 kilos of suspected shabu, with a market value of P32 million.

It also resulted in the apprehension of 301 drug peddlers in 224 anti-illegal drugs operations, according to a statement issued by PRO 6 Public Information Office.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office accounted for 120 drug suspects, and recovered P3.36 million worth of suspected shabu, and P15,400 worth of suspected drug marijuana leaves.

On the other hand, the Bacolod City Police Office nabbed 28 drug suspects, and recovered P191,000 worth of illegal drugs for the month of June.

While it only arrested 22 drug suspects, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU6) operatives, however, recovered P10.1 million worth of shabu, in the same period.

The Iloilo City Police Office also recovered P6.8 million worth of illegal drugs from 53 arrested drug personalities, while the Iloilo Police Provincial Office arrested 52 more drug suspects, which also yielded P9.4 million worth of suspected shabu.

Twenty-six other drug suspects were accounted for by the Aklan, Antique, Capiz and Guimaras Police Provincial Offices, yielding P2,176,000 worth of illegal drugs.

PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, lauded the contributions in accomplishments of the different units across the region.

“Despite this achievement, keep pursuing the remaining persons involved in the illegal trade. It is our goal to account and put them behind bars,” Wanky added.*
