P340K in shabu seized, 2 collared

In an intensified battle against illegal drugs, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), through the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), conducted a buy-bust operation at Purok Kagaykay in Barangay 2 on Sunday evening, which resulted in the apprehension of two drug personalities.

Police recovered from the possession of the two suspects 14 heat-sealed transparent plastic containing suspected shabu, weighing a total of approximately 50 grams with a standard drug value of P340,000.

Apprehended were alias ‘Neil,’ male, a resident of the barangay who was tagged by the police as a high value individual, and alias ‘Charlie,’ male, and a resident of Brgy. Taloc in Bago City. Both suspects will face criminal charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165 or the dangerous drugs act.

During the operation, the police also confiscated a caliber .45 firearm with seven live ammunition, leading to additional charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The arrested individuals are now under police custody, and appropriate charges are being prepared against them.

Moreover, the BCPO said in a statement that they reaffirmed their firm commitment to sustaining the fight against illegal drugs and ensuring a safe and peaceful community for Bacolodnons.*
