P35M in shabu seized in WV

The Police Regional Office 6 reported the confiscation of P35 million worth of illegal drugs for the month of July, from 263 suspected shabu and marijuana peddlers.

This was the result of 211 police operations conducted in Region 6, according to regional police spokesman PLt. Col. Arnel Solis.

Seized during the period were 5.5 kilograms of suspected shabu and 1,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves.

Among the arrested drug suspects, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office accounted for 107 drug personalities, followed by Iloilo City Police Office at 42, Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 34, Bacolod City Police Office – 25, Capiz Police Provincial Office – 21, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6 – 18, Guimaras PPO – 7, Aklan PPO – 5, while the Antique PPO nabbed four.

“Despite these achievements, let us keep pursuing the remaining persons involved in the illegal trade. It is our goal to cleanse our streets of the menace of illegal drugs,” PBrig.Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, said in a statement.

RPDEU6 confiscated the highest volume at about 1.6 kilos of shabu, with an estimated market value of P10.9 million, followed by the Bacolod City Police Office which logged the seizure of an estimated 1.1 kilo of shabu valued at P7.7 million.*
