Within a period of 24 hours on July 25, the police confiscated P3 million worth of suspected shabu from 18 arrested drug suspects in Western Visayas.
Among the drug personalities arrested in Negros Occidental, including the highly urbanized city of Bacolod, Iloilo province and Iloilo City, as well as Capiz, seven were tagged as High Value Individual drug personalities and 11 were Street Level Individuals.
On the other hand, the Capiz Police Provincial Office had the biggest volume of confiscation, amounting to about 125 grams of suspected shabu worth P850,000 in a single operation, with the arrest of three suspects, all tagged as high value individuals on July 25 at Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City, Capiz.
On the other hand, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office logged the most arrested drug suspects, with seven, while one drug suspect was nabbed in Bacolod City.
The buy bust operation on Thursday in Brgy. IV poblacion, Himamaylan City, also yielded an improvised gun with 9mm ammunition, and about six grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P40,800, according to a report of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
The apprehension of three drug suspects at NOCECO Village, also on July 25 in Brgy. 1 poblacion, Kabankalan City, led to the confiscation of an estimated 16 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P108,000, shabu paraphernalia, P695 in cash, and P500 in marked money.
Another 10 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P68,000, and its paraphernalia were also seized by the police, in separate buy bust operations also Thursday in cities of La Carlota and Talisay, which also led to the apprehension of two more drug suspects.*
