• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated more than half a kilo of suspected shabu, with a street market value of P4 million, on Thursday night, from two suspected drug personalities at Purok Tangigue in Brgy. 1, Bacolod City.

Nabbed by CDEU operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office were Jhonie Cabrillos, 27, and Eric Aguirre, 22, both residents of the place, and categorized by the police as High Value Individuals in the illegal drug trade.

The CDEU buy bust operation led by PCapt. Joven Mogato yielded an estimated 600 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P4,080,000, and marked money of P3,000.

In a radio interview, Mogato disclosed that Aguirre was previously arrested in 2018 for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, but was later freed from jail.

Cabrillos, on the other hand, surrendered during the Oplan Tokhang campaign, he added.

Six other drug suspects, including a minor, are now locked up in jail, following their arrests in separate buy bust operations also on February 9, in cities of Escalante, Silay, Himamaylan and Victorias, all in Negros Occidental, that yielded about 12 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P81,600.

Nabbed were Rey Maderaje, Eduardo Gomez, Joefer Napulan and Roel Mansueto, Romeo Tecson, and a 17-year-old, whose identity was withheld.*
