P4.5M property damaged in Bacolod fire

A second-alarm fire broke out in Sitio Dawis, Barangay 14, Bacolod City, yesterday, that resulted in an estimated P4,500,000 in property damage.

According to reports from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Bacolod, the incident displaced approximately 80 families, as of press time.

The fire affected a 3,000 sqm area that totally destroyed 22 residential structures and partially damaged 10 others.

Emergency teams, including BFP personnel and various volunteer fire brigades, responded within two minutes and declared a fire out at 3:52 p.m.

Authorities confirmed that no fatalities were recorded.

Investigators are currently conducting a follow-up probe and mapping the area to determine the exact cause of the fire.*
