The arrest of 312 drug personalities last month in Western Visayas yielded P42.3 million worth of illegal drugs, according to a report of the Police Regional Office 6.
Of the arrested drug peddlers, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office accounted for 99 suspects, while the Bacolod City Police Office nabbed 61 drug personalities, the report added.
The 323 anti-drug operations also resulted to the apprehension of 73 drug suspects in Iloilo City, 30 were arrested in Iloilo province, 18 in Capiz, 16 nabbed by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6, while 15 were collared by the police in Aklan, Capiz, and Guimaras.
Recovered from September 1 to 30 were a total of 6.2 kilos of suspected shabu and an estimated nine grams of dried marijuana leaves, with a market value of P42.3 million.
The Iloilo City Police Office had the biggest volume of confiscations that amounted to P9,931,000, followed by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office with P8,866,000, and third is the Bacolod City Police Office with seizures worth P8,289,000.
PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, said he is hoping the arrest of 312 drug pushers will serve as a warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade, to stop their illegal activities, or soon end up in jail.*
