The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested a street-level drug suspect and recovered over P442,000 worth of illegal drugs during two separate buy-bust operations on Sunday.
The first operation, led by the City Drug Enforcement Unit, arrested an individual identified by the alias ‘Bebe,’ 42, along Banahaw Street, Purok 7, Barangay Villamonte.
According to police records, the suspect is a street level individual listed under the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.
During the apprehension, authorities confiscated approximately 40 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P272,000.
In addition to the suspected narcotics and buy-bust money, operatives recovered a .45 caliber Springfield Armory pistol from the suspect.
The individual was brought to BCPO Police Station 4 for documentation, while the seized evidence was submitted to the PNP Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.
Meanwhile, another buy-bust operation was conducted by Police Station 2 together with the CDEU, at Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8, Bacolod City, on the same day.
The operation resulted in the seizure of more or less 25 grams of suspected shabu worth around P170,000.
Police said the suspect, identified as lias ‘Cli,’ 21-year-old unemployed resident of Purok Lubi, Brgy. 3, Bacolod City, was involved in illegal drug activities in the area.
Recovered during the operation were six sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item; buy-bust money amounting to five hundred pesos, and a black coin purse. Legal charges against the two suspects for the violation of the Republic Act No. 9165 are currently being prepared.*
