The ground works for the first phase of the P5.5 billion Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, is set to start this week, with the arrival of its developer, Mayor Rogelio Raymund Tongson disclosed yesterday.
If schedule allows, Tongson said the groundbreaking of 4PH project in Himamaylan City, will be simultaneously done with the turnover and ribbon cutting of the Yuhom housing project in Bacolod City, with President Marcos Jr. as the guest of honor, as suggested by the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD).
He said a total of 3,000 condominium-type units will be constructed, with a budget of P170 million to P180 million per building.
The cities of Bacolod and Victorias in Negros Occidental are also recipients of the 4PH program of the PBBM administration.
According to Tongson, this collaboration with DHSUD is expected to not only to improve living conditions, but also stimulate economic growth and development in Himamaylan, setting a promising example for addressing housing challenges nationwide.
The target beneficiaries will be residents of Himamaylan City, especially those who need proper housing units, and is a good opportunity for men and women in the government, including teachers, among others.
In a statement, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino y Acuzar said that about 300 units at the Asenso Yuhum Residences in Bacolod City are set for turnover to its beneficiaries, with more units expected for delivery in the coming months.
“I am confident that 2024 will be a milestone year for our President’s Pambansang Pabahay. Slowly but surely, we are now reaping the fruits of our labor,” Secretary Acuzar said.
“It’s our simple way of returning the favor to President Marcos Jr., for his all-out support to DHSUD,” he added.*
