The usage of the P50 million donation from the Office of the President (OP) for Kanlaon evacuees in Negros Occidental may take some time.
This developed after the Office of the President required the provincial government to submit a copy of the resolution passed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson disclosed yesterday.
The P50 million financial assistance has been earmarked for the food of evacuees staying in 22 evacuation centers.
The provincial government already submitted to the OP a signed copy of the Deed of Donation, which was approved by the SP.
The additional requirement of the SP resolution with witnesses was required from the Capitol, according to Lacson.
He said they are targeting to comply with the documentary requirements by next week, and he is optimistic that by next week President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. can sign the Deed of Donation.
“Hopefully we can iron out the details so that the amount can be utilized for the food of the evacuees,” Lacson said.*
