A P50,000 reward is being offered by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez for any information leading to the arrest of two suspects linked to the murder of Nicus Balagosa inside his residence in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, on June 2.
Balagosa, a Grade 11 student, was gunned down in front of his parents, according to the police. He succumbed to four bullet wounds.
The reward forms part of the Bacolod City government’s ongoing efforts to ensure swift justice for the heinous crime that shocked the community, said a statement from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
According to the police, a warrant of arrest has been issued by the court against the suspects, identified as Carlito Tongo, alias Dondon, and Jonathan Tongo, alias Athan.
In a statement, PCol. Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, said they have been intensifying their efforts to locate and apprehend the two suspects, and bring them to justice.
The murder was reportedly connected to the molestation of a 16-year-old on May 31 in the barangay.
Coronica assured that they will treat the information they receive with utmost confidentiality.
In an earlier issued statement, Benitez said that the full force of the law will be used, until justice is served to the family of the victim.*
