Policemen seized about P524,000 in shabu, as well as guns and explosives in separate buy bust operations on November 10 and 11, respectively, from five arrested suspects in highly urbanized Bacolod City and in Negros Occidental.
A combined team of local police and 65th PNP Special Action Company yesterday served a search warrant at the residence of Michael Bermejo at Hacienda Banilad, Brgy. Nanca, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.
The raid led to the arrest Bermejo, 34, and seizure of about 60 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P408,000 and a fragmentation grenade.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, assisted by local policemen, also conducted a buy bust operation on Nov. 10 at Brgy. 12 in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
The apprehension of Reynaldo de la Torre, 46, yielded a 9mm pistol with two magazines containing 18 ammunition, P100 in marked money, 52 pieces of boodle money amounting to P19,000 and a cellular phone, police said.
An estimated 15 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P102,000 and P500 in marked money were also confiscated from the possession of Oscar Oghayon in another buy bust operation on Thursday at Purok Hervias in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City.
Two other drug suspects identified as Kevin Intiendez and Arturo Villas Jr. were also separately apprehended by the police in buy bust operations on Thursday in Cadiz City and Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
Their arrests yielded about 1.2 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P10,200 and P1,000 in marked money, police said.*
