More than P5 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated by the police in separate buy bust operations in Bacolod City, and EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, on November 22 and 23, respectively.
A member of the Caunda Drug Group, whose identity was withheld by the police, was arrested yesterday by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement and Intelligence Units, during a buy bust operation at Purok Pilipinhon, Brgy. 30, Bacolod City.
The arrest of the drug personality, known only as alias MarMar, yielded 640 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P4,352,000.
On Nov. 22, the police also apprehended another drug suspect, identified only through his alias as Rodney, that led to the recovery of about 100 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P680,000.
Meanwhile, a certain Alias Andy was also arrested by the police in another buy bust operation inside the public cemetery in Brgy. 2 poblacion, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
His apprehension also yielded an estimated 10 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P68,000.
In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, regional police director of Western Visayas, lauded operatives of both Bacolod City Police Office and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office for their exceptional accomplishment in the battle against illegal drugs.*
