The P60 million public market of Hinobaan in Negros Occidental is now open for business.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Hinobaan municipal officials led by Mayor Ernesto Estrao yesterday led the inauguration and blessing of the new public market.

The P60 million infrastructure project was funded through the Municipal Development Fund Office and the provincial government of Negros Occidental.

Estrao thanked Lacson for the realization of the new public market, and for his continued support to the development of Hinobaan.

He said that the market was primarily designed to be an agricultural “bagsakan” that will boost the local economy.

Lacson stressed the need for the public market to be always clean and orderly, since it makes a good impression of the town that will lead to more local development.

Lacson and Estrao were also joined by Board Member Jeffrey Tubola and Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa.

A new hospital is also set to rise soon in Hinobaan.*
