P633,000 in crops, livestock damaged by rains in Moises Padilla

Heavy rains which led to flooding in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, have left more than P633,000 worth of losses to agriculture and livestock.

According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), at least 20 hectares of ricefields and high value crops were destroyed in Moises Padilla, which affected 29 farmers.

The damage to crops spanned nine barangays of Moises Padilla, including the villages of Quintin Remo, Odiong, Montilla, Magallon Cadre, Barangay 4, Barangay 6, Guinpana-an, Crossing Magallon, and Macagahay.

Eleven houses were also destroyed, while 46 others were reported as partially damaged.

The PDRRMO also reported P21,261.36 in damage to livestock in the cities of Bago and La Carlota, as well as in Valladolid.

Eight houses were also partially damaged in Silay City and E.B. Magalona, while another one was reported destroyed in Bago City.*
