A high-value individual (HVI) was arrested with P680,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation early Thursday morning by the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).
The suspect, identified as Dennis Britannia, was nabbed during a sting operation conducted at Purok Lubi, Barangay 3, Bacolod City, at around 2:53 a.m.
According to police, Britania, resident of the same barangay, was classified as an HVI but is not on the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) list.
According to Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), the seized drugs, more or less 100 grams, have been submitted to the Crime Laboratory for examination.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the BCPO, awaiting legal proceedings.
The suspect is facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*

In its intensified war against illegal drugs, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office recovered P186,028 worth of suspected shabu and nabbed 7 individuals over the course of 24-hours of operations on Wednesday.
Among the individuals apprehended by the Sagay Component City Police Station were a 23-year-old criminology student named alias “Jay-R,” a resident of Purok Lamak Barangay Paraiso, and the 42-year-old massage therapist alias “Inday,” a resident of the same barangay.
However, during the operation, one of their companions, alias “Sipil,” was able to escape and remains at large. The police confiscated more than P26,000 worth of suspected shabu from the suspects’ possessions.
Another operation in the same barangay led to the arrest of alias “Maky,” 19, where the police recovered from his person P23,800 worth of illegal drugs.
Among the top catches of the day was in Silay City, where a pedicab driver tagged as alias “Lito,” 38, and a resident of Barangay 2 was apprehended after the police seized from his possession the 8 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug value of P54,400.
In the town of Pontevedra, the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station confiscated the same amount of illegal drugs from alias “Gabby,” 19, and a resident of Barangay Don Salvador Benedicto.
Moreover, in Talisay City, a buy-bust operation was conducted that led to the apprehension of a 26-year-old jobless man named alias “Sam,”a resident of Zone 5, Barangay Concepcion. Confiscated from his property were 3 grams of suspected shabu amounting to P20,400.
Alias “Ben,” 24 years old, was also arrested in Escalante City after the police caught him possessing shabu worth P6,528.
All apprehended individuals are now under the custody of the police and will face charges in violation of RA 9165, or the Dangerous Drug Act, while the recovered items were turned over to the forensic unit for laboratory examination.*
