A total of 400 Negrenses have availed of a livelihood assistance grant from the national government, through the Office of Senator Bong Go.
The beneficiaries are residents of EB Magalona, Calatrava, Moises Padilla and Isabela in Negros Occidental. Each beneficiary receives P15,000.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, assisted by Mayor Marvin Malacon and Board Member Andrew Montelibano, led the distribution of livelihood assistance to 100 beneficiaries in EB Magalona on September 14.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office led by Merle Garcia, assisted by municipal social welfare personnel, facilitated the distribution of financial assistance in EB Magalona.
Lacson also led the inauguration of an Animal Health Center in Hinigaran on Tuesday, witnessed by Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo, Board Members Rita Gatuslao, Anton Occeño and Andrew Montelibano, Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo, Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson, Isabela Mayor Irene Montilla, Provincial Veterinary Office officer-in-charge Placeda Lemana and District Veterinarian Dr. Maria Regina Gawan.
The animal center project, implemented through the Provincial Veterinary Office, was established to ensure effective and efficient delivery of veterinary services to the public and provide animal health care and related services.
In a statement, Capitol said that the facility’s primary responsibility is to carry out programs, projects and activities required to sustain the development of the province’s livestock and poultry industries;
To prevent and control domestic and animal diseases in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act, the services available at the animal center include veterinary consultation, medical treatment, deworming, vitamins supplementation, laboratory tests, and surgery-castration.
A Memorandum of Agreement was also signed by Lacson and the local government of Hinigaran, stating the joint undertaking between the province and the partner LGU.*
