A total of P716,720 worth of suspected shabu was seized by authorities in separate anti-drug buy-bust operations in the Negros Island Region.
In Murcia, Negros Occidental, a successful buy-bust operation was conducted by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Regional Office – Negros Island Region – Regional Special Enforcement Team (PDEA RO NIR-RSET), in coordination with the Murcia Municipal Police Station, on January 23 in Barangay Salvacion.
The operation resulted in the arrest of one High-Value Target (HVT) identified as alias ‘Yummie,’ 38 years old, and a resident of the barangay.
Seized during the operation were eleven sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of 51 grams, with a standard value of P346,800.
Also confiscated were an improvised glass tooter, a disposable lighter, an Android mobile phone, and cash proceeds.
Meanwhile, in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, police apprehended a certain High-Value Individual at Purok 3, Barangay Calabnugan, on January 22, as part of an intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
It led to the confiscation of approximately 54 grams of suspected shabu, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P369,920, along with buy-bust money and other non-drug evidence.
These successful operations further demonstrate the agency’s firm commitment to suppress illegal drug activities and to protect the people of the Negros Island Region from the dangers of prohibited substances.
Both suspects are now in police custody and will face criminal charges for violations of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
