A total of P782,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized by authorities during separate buy-bust operations on January 17 in Murcia town and Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Investigations revealed that personnel from the Kabankalan City Police Station launched a buy-bust operation at Phase 1, Villa Concha Subdivision, Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, which resulted in the seizure of over P408,000 worth of shabu.

The operation led to the arrest of an individual known as ‘Kobe,’ 21 years old, jobless, and a resident of Fontana Subdivision, Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

Recovered from his possession were 10 heat-sealed, knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 60 grams.

Meanwhile, in Murcia, a high-value drug suspect was taken into custody by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) after being caught in the act of illegal drug activities at Barangay Salvacion.

The suspect was identified as ‘Mark,’ 26 years old, and a resident of the same barangay.

During the operation, authorities seized from Mark’s possession 12 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of more or less 55 grams, with a standard value of P374,000.

Both suspects will face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
