The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) conducted a buy-bust operation at Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City yesterday which led to the confiscation of P884,000 worth of suspected shabu and the arrest of a female drug dealer.
The arrested was identified as alias ‘Nang,’ a 56-year-old High Value Individual and a resident of the barangay.
During the operation, authorities recovered from her possession about 9 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing to more or less 130 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P884,000.
Police said that the operation was carried out following information received from a confidential informant stating that the subject was actively involved in illegal drug activities across various barangays in the city, particularly in Barangays 1, 2, and Banago.
Acting on the report, authorities carried out the operation which led to the seizure of drug items and the arrest of the suspect.
“Every intelligence effort, surveillance activity, and law enforcement operation reflects their determination to dismantle drug networks that threaten the safety and stability of Negros Island,” PRO-NIR said in a statement.
The agency vowed for a swift response to resolve and strike hard at those who continue to fuel the illegal drug trade in the region.
The confiscated drug evidence was submitted to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination, while the non-drug evidence and the suspect remains in the custody of the police for proper legal disposition.*
