The anti-illegal drug operations of the police in Western Visayas for the month led to the seizure of about P82.4 million worth of illegal drugs, recovered from 318 arrested drug suspects.
Among the Police Regional Office 6 accomplishments for the month of October, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) had the largest volume in confiscations that amounted to P29.7 million worth of illegal drugs, while the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) accounted for 32.7 percent of the 318 arrested drug peddlers.
The month-long operations against illegal drugs by the PRO 6 yielded an estimated 12 kilos of suspected shabu, valued at P82 million, and 2,013 grams of marijuana worth P241,000.
According to a statement issued by PRO 6, NOCPPO arrested 104 drug suspects, Iloilo City Police Office – 83, BCPO – 62, Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 45, Capiz PPO – 9, Antique PPO – 7, Aklan PPO – 4, and two each for Guimaras PPO and Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6.
The PRO 6 accomplishment reports also indicated that the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) recovered 28.8 million worth of illegal drugs, while the Iloilo PPO seized P11.1 million of suspected shabu.*
