The series of buy bust operations in Bacolod City on August 3 and 4, respectively, led to the recovery of about 1.7 kilos of suspected shabu with a market value of P9.2 million, from six arrested drug suspects, who are now locked up in jail.
Drug Enforcement Team operatives of the Police Station 8 nabbed three drug suspects they classified as High Value Individuals (HVIs) on Aug. 3, during a buy bust operation at Purok Kabulakan 1, Brgy. Singcang Airport, Bacolod City.
The apprehension of three suspects identified as Gycelle Bonagua, with aliases of Alog and Bolly, of Angeles City, Pampanga; Michael Ramos, of Antipolo, Rizal; and Rizald Lapag, of Brgy. 4, Bacolod City, yielded 1.3 kilos of suspected shabu with a market value of P8,840,000, and an Armscor .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing five ammuntion.
Bonagua was identified by the police as a member of the Caunda Drug Group.
Another buy bust operation on the same day conducted by the BCPO Drug Enforcement Unit also led to the arrest of a drug suspect identified as Dino Paolo, alias Toto, at Purok Kagaykay in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.
The arrest of Paolo, 24, also yielded an estimated 17 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P115,600, according to BCPO.
It was followed by another buy bust operation on Aug. 4 in Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City, that also resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects identified as Carolyn Li, alias Kaka, and Jelo Vergel, alias Boy Negros.
The apprehension of Li, who is engaged in an online selling business, and Vergel, by operatives of BCPO Station 4, also yielded 25 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P170,000 and 12 grams of suspected marijuana kush with a market value of P81,600.
Two other drug suspects identified as Tryx Kyssbyll Majarucon, June Artaba and Ronnie Batusin were also apprehended by the police in separate buy bust operations on Aug. 3 in cities of Cadiz and San Carlos, Negros Occidental.
Their arrests yielded an estimated 1.5 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P10,700 and P500 in marked money.*
