A series of anti-drug operations on February 22 in Negros Island Region led to the apprehension of 10 drug suspects, including a mother and her daughter, and the confiscation of about P904,000 worth of suspected shabu.
The arrest of alias Esme, 49, and her daughter, Bambam, 25, during a buy bust operation of the City Drug Enforcement Unit at Purok Progreso 1 in Brgy. Vista Alegre, led to the seizure of about 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at P408,000.
Another buy bust operation at Sitio Campaclan in Brgy. Poblacion, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, led to the arrest of alias Shakira and the confiscation of an estimated 61 grams of suspected shabu, estimated to have a market value of P414,800.
The anti-drug operation was jointly conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit and intelligence operatives of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office.
Seven other drug suspects were also nabbed by the police in Binalbagan, Pontevedra, Silay City, and Valladolid, Negros Occidental, which led to the confiscation of 12 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P81,400.
The arrested drug suspects are now facing charges for violation of RA 9165,also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
