A 35-year-old laborer was arrested by the police on Wednesday at Purok Tuboran in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, for allegedly threatening his son, who is a minor, with the use of a firearm.
Initial police investigations indicated that the victim was threatened with a gun by his father, who was creating alarm and scandal at the house of the former’s uncle, Michael Dayanan.
Dayanan sought the help of the police and barangay officials of Oringao, who immediately responded by arresting the suspect.
A caliber .38 revolver with six ammunition and a caliber .22 revolver with eight ammunition were recovered by the police from the suspect, who is now locked up in jail.
The victim, who was reported to have been traumatized by the incident, is now under the care of the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
On the other hand, an 18-year-old motorcycle driver was arrested on Wednesday by the police at the Eco-Tourism Translink Highway in Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City.
While being requested to present his driver’s license and vehicle registration at the checkpoint area, the police was able to recover a caliber .38 revolver with two rounds of ammunition from his motorcycle.*
