‘Pacquiao hell-bent on running for president’

Senator Manny Pacquiao*

Filipino boxing icon-turned Senator Manny Pacquiao is determined to run for president, or nothing at all, disclosed yesterday by his spokesman former Rep. Monico Puentevella.

“Pacquiao is hell-bent on running for president,” Puentevella said, with respect to Vice President Leni Robredo

Presidential aspirant Pacquiao earlier said that anything can still happen until November 15, when asked on a possible team up with VP Leni, stressing that he is not closing his door for the possibility.

Puentevella, who admitted to have attended several meetings between Robredo and Pacquiao for a unified ticket in the 2022 elections, said it’s a dream of Senator Pacquiao, not only now, but ever since, to run for president, stressing that he wants to solve hunger.

While anything can happen by November 15, Puentevella said “All I can say is Senator Pacquiao will not going to slide down, or switch (positions)”.

“Senator Pacquaio is determined to run for president, or nothing at all”, he stressed.

Puentevella claimed that it was Pacquiao who exposed first the corruption which was followed up by Senator Dick Gordon, by holding Senate inquiries that elicited so much anger from President Rodrigo Duterte.

The former solon and mayor of Bacolod City, said they are banking on the support of the “masa (ordinary) people”, which constitutes 60 million of the 65 million voting population of the country.

Puentevella also revealed that Pacquiao is soon to visit Negros Occidental for inauguration of his campaign headquarters in Bacolod City.

Pacquaio was recently criticized for distributing his personal money to victims of floods and other natural calamities in Batangas, where he was declared as an adopted son of the province.*
