The Philippine Association of Medical Technologists Inc. (PAMET) – Negros Occidental Chapter has been named this year’s recipient of the prestigious Most Outstanding Chapter Award for the Visayas region.
This recognition highlights the chapter’s exceptional performance, dedication to professional excellence, and significant contributions to the medical technology community in Negros Occidental.
The award was formally presented during the 15th PAMET Visayas Regional Conference, which took place at the La Carmela de Boracay Hotel and Convention Center on Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan, on March 26. The conference gathered medical technologists from across the Visayas for seminars, networking, and the recognition of outstanding chapters and individuals.
The award was conferred by key officials of the national organization, including PAMET national president Luella Vertucio, national vice president Gamaliel Fulgueras, executive secretary Mark Raymund Nava, treasurer Evangeline Castillo, auditor Marites Go, and regional director for Visayas Maruja Japzon. On behalf of the chapter, the award was received by Negros Occidental Chapter president Ma. Lovella Benedicto, who was joined by the chapter’s officers and members present at the conference. The group expressed their gratitude and dedicated the award to all chapter members who worked tirelessly throughout the year.
In addition to the chapter award, another notable honor was given to a member of the Negros Occidental Chapter. Gemma De los Reyes, a dedicated and accomplished medical technologist, received the Most Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes individuals who have shown exemplary service, leadership, and commitment to the profession.
This is not the first time the Negros Occidental Chapter has been recognized on a national level. In 2018, the chapter achieved its highest recognition to date, when it was named one of the top five nominees in the Most Outstanding Chapter at the 54th PAMET Annual National Convention in Manila. That earlier honor further solidified the chapter’s reputation as a consistent powerhouse in the organization.
The chapter was recognized for its remarkable contributions in achieving the mission and vision of the association, through its relevant programs and activities aimed at improving the plight of medical technologists, and its contributions to the welfare of the community.
PAMET Negros Occidental also received a special recognition for Continuing Professional Development, and for its continuous commitment to empower its members through the conduct of various capacity-building activities, such as seminars, trainings, workshops and other CPD programs.
Another special recognition for the chapter is for its community service, for numerous outreach programs in the locality and far-flung areas in Negros Occidental; and for its collaborative partnerships with stakeholders in the successful implementation of community-based projects.
With back-to-back recognitions this year, the Chapter continues to set a benchmark for excellence, professionalism, and active participation in both regional and national events. The chapter remains committed to advancing the field of medical technology and fostering a strong, united community of practitioners in the province.*
