Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer led the official launch of the Panaad sa Negros 2025 yesterday, at the Provincial Capitol Lagoon in Bacolod City, with the theme “The Future Unfolds.”
The event was highlighted by the sashing of the Lin-ay sg Negros 2025 candidates.
Panaad sa Negros, considered the festival of all festivals in the province, will run from March 24 to 30.
Last year, we embraced the theme of “Living the Promise”. This year, we move forward, as “The Future Unfolds” – a future shaped by our unity, our rich culture, and our unwavering commitment to progress and to one another, Lacson said.
Over the years, Panaad sa Negros has been more than just a festival. It has been a symbol of our heritage, a showcase of our resilience, and a testament to our shared aspirations. It is here that every town and city of Negros Occidental comes together, bringing the best of their traditions, products, and stories – stories that define who we are as Negrenses, the governor said.
“With just a few weeks until our much-anticipated festival, I extend my gratitude to everyone working behind the scenes – the dedicated men and women who ensure that this celebration becomes a reality. Your efforts, your creativity, and your perseverance allow us to continue this tradition, making each year more remarkable than the last,” Lacson said.

Let us embrace this opportunity to showcase the best of Negros Occidental and the Negrenses, and enrich the Panaad historical landscape as the festival of all festivals of the province and create lasting memories for both present and future generations, he said.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, the members of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan, our beloved mayors, congressmen, our partner for this year’s Panaad, the Negros Cultural Foundation, Inc., and all stakeholders for their unwavering support and commitment to the success of Panaad sa Negros 2025. It is through our united efforts, shared vision, and sincere devotion to service that we will realize our shared vision for Negros Occidental for our fellow Negrenses,” Lacson said.
Let us all look ahead with hope and determination, as we unfold a future filled with endless possibilities for Negros Occidental and the Negrenses, he added.
Ferrer, on the other hand, lamented that this will be his last Panaad sa Negros as vice governor.
“Next year you will have a new vice governor. But wherever I go, no matter what my calling, I will support your administration,” he told Lacson.
However, this year, he is excited to witness the journey of these incredible individuals (Lin-ay candidates) who embody the spirit of Negros – from their stunning beauty and creative artistry, to the strength of their community ties, Ferrer added.
Meanwhile, Panaad sa Negros executive director Charina Magallanes-Tan congratulated the 2025 Lin-ay sg Negros candidates, saying that “The sashing ceremony marks the beginning of your journey that will go beyond the stage. You will now carry the pride of your respective LGUs embodying the strength, culture, and aspirations of your communities.”*
