The opening of Park Inn by Radisson in Bacolod City is a testament to SM Hotels & Conventions Corporation’s (SMHCC) confidence in the market which is further boosted and affirmed with the prestigious Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit Award recently bestowed on Bacolod by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This was what SMHCC executive vice president Peggy Angeles said during the formal opening of their fifth Park Inn hotel in the city Tuesday, which started operations in July in the midst of lockdowns brought about by the pandemic.
The formal opening of the hotel was followed by the opening of the Art Cove and its inaugural exhibit at the lobby, unveiling of The Tale of Marapara mural marker at the Marapara Plaza on the second floor where the Christmas tree lighting ceremony was also held.
Angeles said “With eased and decreasing COVID-19 cases in our country, we all look forward to the further opening of the economy and the eventual recovery of the tourism industry. As more and more people get vaccinated, including the youth, confidence in indulging in leisure activities, as well as staycations are certainly coming back. More than ever, the future is looking brighter for the hospitality industry.”
Park Inn by Radisson general manager Sherwin Lucas said July 8 was when they first opened their doors as the first international hotel in Negros and that they are officially establishing the hotel as a distinguished landmark in the City of Smiles.
“Park Inn by Radisson is a feel-good brand that can cater to any occasion. The upbeat vibe of the brand greatly complements the fun-loving personality of Bacolodnons, reflected in the optimism of the people,” he said.
Lucas also pointed out that all their staff are fully vaccinated. They have partnered with SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, and that they follow a 20-step protocol to make sure that their sanitation is at par with world standards.
They have 38 organic personnel that employs 73 percent from Negros and 55 percent from Bacolod, he added.
Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod acquired its Safety Seal certification in July from the Department of Tourism Region 6 recognizing it as an accommodation establishment.
The hotel has 150 rooms and suites, recreational facilities such as adult and kid’s pools, fitness center, meeting and event venues, outdoor jogging path, pool bar, and is located at the SM City-Bacolod Mall Complex.*
