Another patient of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City jumped to his death on Saturday night, the second incident to happen in the same hospital since January this year, police records show.
The victim, a 66-year-old patient, jumped from the hospital 4th floor West Tower, according to initial investigations of the Police Station 2.
The identity of the patient has been withheld by the police, but the 66-year-old man was reported to have been suffering from depression.
Prior to the incident, the victim underwent an operation on “laryngeal new growth”, according to initial investigations of the police.
The investigations of the Police Station 2 further showed that incident took place after the victim’s daughter left him to buy medicines.
The victim reportedly closed the door, broke the glass window using a steel stool, and jumped to his death, police investigations further showed.
In January this year, a COVID-19 patient also died after jumping off the hospital 4th floor West Tower.*
