Both President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sarah Duterte are expected to arrive in Bacolod City for the MassKara Festival in October.
This was disclosed by Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez yesterday, who added that the first lady is also joining them. He however does not know yet if they are arriving during the opening or closing of the event.
Benitez said Duterte confirmed to them Thursday that she is coming.
He said the MassKara Festival will kick off on October 1.
But since there is no allocation this year for the MassKara Festival and he also heard that there is only less than P2 million available budget left, they will be tapping corporate entities to help sponsor the event, Benitez said.
Since they are targeting to make it the grandest ever, they will need funds amounting to tens of millions, he said.
Benitez said they will conduct information/ education drive to bring awareness to the public so they will know how to protect themselves from getting infected by COVID-19 during the MassKara celebration.*
