The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, country’s largest business organization, has called on Filipino consumers to patronize locally-made products to help businesses thrive amid the pandemic.
“We are still reeling from a crisis that is unparalleled in recent history. In the face of losses from reduced economic activity, we are calling on all consumers and industry users to support Philippine-made products. This is to help local businesses survive, rebound, and continue providing jobs for the Filipino people,” PCCI president Benedicto Yujuico said in a statement yesterday.
The PCCI also launched the #PinasMunaTayo movement to support government’s initiatives to promote Filipino brands such as Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) ‘Buy Local, Go Lokal’ campaign, and Department of Science and Technology’s oneStore.ph.
PCCI director for industry Alfredo Yao has lauded DTI’s Build Lokal campaign as it aligns with the business group’s initiative to encourage local contractors, manufacturers, enterprises, and multinational companies to source their raw materials that are locally available.*PNA
