The Philippine College of Occupational Medicine – Negros Occidental Chapter (PCOM-NOC) tendered a testimonial dinner to honor Dr. Erlinda de los Reyes and Dr. Cecilia Salvador at Park Inn by Radisson – Bacolod last April 14.
De los Reyes was past president of PCOM-NOC while Salvador served as secretary of the organization for 45 years. Both have been the best of friends since their college days and have been active in various civic organizations such as the Kanlaon Medical Society which conducts medical missions to serve the less privileged.
Former Talisay mayor Dr. Eric Saratan serenaded the honorees with a song titled “Always” popularized by Filipino balladeer Marco Sison, and also thanked them for the services they rendered to his constituents in Talisay.
PCOM-NOC past president Dr. Rafael Jocson recalled that both Delos Reyes and Salvador have always been in the forefront of organizing homecomings, projects and missions.
He also described the honorees as “walking ambassadors” of PCOM in the province, and as “walking memory banks” of the history and traditions of PCOM-NOC which was founded by De los Reyes’ late husband, Dr. Teleforo Delos Reyes Jr.
Dr. Erlinda De los Reyes, an anesthesiologist, and Dr. Cecilia Salvador, an internist, were also presented plaques of appreciation by officers of PCOM-NOC, led by its president Dr. Carlitos Orola.
During their speeches, Salvador presented the history of PCOM-NOC, while Delos Reyes highlighted the importance of transformational leadership.
Raymund Livioco, UNILAB district supervisor, was presented a certificate of appreciation by Dr. Carlitos Orola and Dr. Lesel Ganancial, PCOM-NOC president and secretary, respectively, during the event.*
