• THERESA MAE DULMAN

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested four high-value targets during a joint buy-bust operation in Barangay 8, Bacolod City, on Monday.

The operation, conducted at approximately 1:35 p.m. in Purok Fire, was carried out by the PDEA RO-NIR NOCPO, the PDEA RO-NIR SIU NOCPO, and the PDEG SOU NIR.

Authorities identified the alleged maintainer of the den as 36-year-old alias ‘Patrick,’ a resident of the area.

Also apprehended during the raid were alias ‘Janice,’ an employee of the facility, and two visitors identified as alias ‘Larry’ and alias ‘Leosan,’ both residents of Barangay Taculing.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of 12 sachets of suspected shabu with a total estimated weight of 15 grams and a value of P102,000.

Operatives also recovered the buy-bust money and various drug paraphernalia, including an improvised glass tooter, a lighter, a pair of scissors, and a coin purse.

All four suspects are now facing criminal charges for the violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12 under Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
